General Construction Training
Individual Training Courses
Working Safely at Heights
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to work safely at heights across most industries.
It applies to those working in operational roles. They generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and take responsibility for the quality of work outcomes.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
-
RIIWHS204E - Work safely at heights
Confined Space Entry
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to enter and work in confined spaces across most industries.
It applies to those working in operational roles. They generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and take responsibility for the quality of work outcomes.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national units of competency of:
- RIIWHS202E - Enter and work in a confined space
- MSMPER200 - Work in accordance with an issued permit
- MSMPER205 - Enter confined space
Atmospheric Gas Testing
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to test the working atmosphere, using electronic test apparatus, to find out if it is safe for the proposed work.
It applies to situations where an individual may be required to carry out gas testing of an atmosphere prior to entering a specific area or workspace. The competency requires the person to interpret readings and take actions based on the interpretation.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- MSMWHS217 - Gas test atmosphere
Construction White Card
This course provides the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work.
The course requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- CPCCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
Manual Handling
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to shift materials safely using manual handling methods.
It includes assessing the risks associated with relocating the load, planning the relocation process and carrying out the relocation in accordance with the plan. Work must be carried out in compliance with the relevant work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations concerning the manual handling and movement of loads.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- TLID0020 - Shift materials safely using manual handling methods
