Water Cart
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to load, haul and distribute water using a water vehicle. Water trucks sometimes referred to as water carts, are a vital part of the construction, mining and civil operations. They are often used for dust control, compaction, civil and major road building and can also be used for fire prevention and controls.
This course will generally be required to be delivered on site.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- RIIMPO206D - Conduct bulk water truck operations
- RIIMPO326E - Conduct water vehicle operations
Excavator
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to operate excavator operations to lift carry and place materials. An excavator is a large, diesel-powered construction machine made for digging out earth with its bucket to create trenches, holes and foundations. It's a staple of large construction jobsites. Hydraulic excavators consist of two main sections, the undercarriage and the house, which sits on a rotating platform.
This course will generally be required to be delivered on site.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- RIIMPO301E - Conduct hydraulic excavator operations
- RIIMPO320F - Conduct civil construction excavator operations
Wheel Loader
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to conduct wheeled front end loader operations. Wheel loaders are a piece of heavy equipment usually found in construction projects and building sites. A wheel loader uses an arm to lift and lower its bucket, and a bell crank is used to open and close its bucket. Wheel loaders can lift almost anything such as debris, gravel, soil, dirt, and/or pallets.
This course will generally be required to be delivered on site.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- RIIMPO304E - Conduct wheel loader operation
- RIIMPO321F - Conduct civil construction wheeled front end loader operations
Track Loader
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate a tracked front end loader to shift loads. Also known as a crawler, a track dozer moves on tracks similar to what you might think of on a tank. These tracks are often steel but can also be rubber.
This course will generally be required to be delivered on site.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- RIIMPO322E - Conduct civil construction tracked front end loader operations
Track Dozer
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to conduct dozer operations. Track Dozers are heavy-weight motorised machines that are employed for the purpose of moving away heavy dirt from one location to another. These machines are equipped with a metal blade that is ideal to push, loosen and scoop dirt especially mine and construction sites.
This course will generally be required to be delivered on site.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- RIIMPO308F - Conduct tracked dozer operations
- RIIMPO323E - Conduct civil construction dozer operations
Wheel Dozer
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to conduct dozer operations. A wheeled dozer has four tires under the tractor, distributing the machine's weight at the four corners where each wheel stands. Because this type of heavy equipment typically operates on a smaller axis, a wheel dozer offers more versatility and mobility, capable of making sharper turns.
This course will generally be required to be delivered on site.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- RIIMPO309F - Conduct wheeled dozer operations
- RIIMPO323E - Conduct civil construction dozer operations
Grader
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to operate a grader. The name 'grader' alludes to what the machine does, which is levelling the ground to a certain grade in preparation for laying asphalt or concrete on top of the area. This construction machine can also be used for the removal of snow, debris and earthmoving based on the projects' location and requirements.
This course will generally be required to be delivered on site.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- RIIMPO310F - Conduct grader operations
- RIIMPO324F - Conduct civil construction grader operations
Skid Steer Loader
This course provides the skills and knowledge required operate a skid steer loader to load, haul and distribute materials. A skid steer loader is a versatile machine used to dig, collect, lift and move material, particularly dirt and sand, and also grade, jackhammer cement and load trucks.
This course will generally be required to be delivered on site.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- RIIMPO318F - Conduct civil construction skid steer loader operations
- RIIMPO334E - Conduct skid steer loader operations using attachments
- RIIMPO335E - Conduct skid steer loader operations without attachments
Back Hoe
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to operate a backhoe/loader to load, distribute and place materials. A backhoe loader combines two popular functionalities of heavy equipment — digging and moving. On one side is a loader bucket for pushing, lifting and carrying materials, and on the other side is a backhoe for easy digging.
This course will generally be required to be delivered on site.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- RIIMPO319E - Conduct backhoe/loader operations
Haul Truck Plant Training
Articulated Haul Truck
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to operate, load, haul and dump materials using an articulated haul truck. Compared to the rigid dump truck, the articulated dump/tipper truck can handle rough and unruly terrain and weather, along with lower ceiling heights, restricted turning radiuses and narrow roads.
This course will generally be required to be delivered on site.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- RIIMPO337E - Conduct articulated haul truck operations
Rigid Haul Truck
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to operate, load, haul and dump materials using a rigid haul truck. Rigid haul trucks specifically engineered for use in high-production mining and heavy-duty construction environments. They are purpose built trucks that are able to go over rough terrain to get the job done.
This course will generally be required to be delivered on site.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:

Tip Truck
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to operate a heavy rigid vehicle in the resources and infrastructure industries and other industries. A tip truck is used for transporting materials for construction as well as mining. A typical tip truck is equipped with an open-box bed, which is hinged at the rear and equipped with hydraulic rams to lift the front, allowing the material in the bed to be deposited on the ground behind the truck at the site of delivery.
This course will generally be required to be delivered on site.
Upon the completion of this training, you will be awarded the national unit of competency of:
- RIIVEH304E - Conduct tip truck operations
